Fire department uses new DSPA technology on house fire call
At 4:08 Thursday July 7th the Saugeen Shores Fire Department responded quickly to a report of a house fire at 43 Saugeen Beach Rd in Saugeen Shores.
Upon arrival, fire crews contained the fire and prevented its spread to adjacent properties using DSPA fire suppression technology. Conventional firefighting techniques were subsequently used to extinguish the fire and overhaul the building the 26 firefighters that responded from both Saugeen Shores Fire Stations.
Two occupants were home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate the home without assistance. During the fire attack, one firefighter received a minor injury and is expected to recover fully without treatment.
Damage is estimated at $225,000. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The Saugeen Shores Fire Department and the Saugeen Shores Police Service are continuing the investigation.
